BMW revealed its 2019 Z4 roadster, a 340-horsepower inline-six-cylinder two-seater, at Pebble Beach late August ahead of the renowned concours d’elegance held there August 26.

The BMW Z4 M40i First Edition was unveiled specifically, a car boasting a 50-50 weight distribution, a sport suspension system and a zero-to-100 km/h sprint time of 4.6 seconds.

The sheet metal wrapped around the performance-oriented chassis strongly resembles the concept car debuted last year at Pebble Beach, with a mesh pattern behind BMW’s kidney grille; an integrated rear spoiler; and dynamic character lines and “air-breather” intakes and extractor openings.

The First Edition cars will wear Frozen Orange metallic with an anthracite top and Vernasca black leather upholstery. The 19-inch wheels are two-coloured with a double-spoke design.

The other engines that will live under the hood of the 2019 Z4 will be unveiled in less than a month, on September 19, BMW promised, with the car’s full debut scheduled for the Paris auto show in early October.

Sales will begin worldwide in early 2019.
